HOUSING ASSISTANCE

HELP WITH RENT OR MORTGAGE PAYMENTS

The state's Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) and Emergency Rental and Mortgage Assistance (ERMA) programs may provide income-eligible households with up to $10,000 to pay overdue or future rent or mortgage costs. 

Avon, Canton, and Stoughton residents can apply for funds through the South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC)-

Homeowners may also want to contact the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Consumer Advocacy and Response Division (CARD) at (617) 727-8400. They can provide assistance for homeowners who are struggling to pay their mortgage.
